The Smart Scholars Program 2021 is inviting interested individuals to the Smart Museum of Art that supports excellence in undergraduate education at the University of Chicago by expanding opportunities for object-centered inquiry.
The Smart Scholars Program 2021 is designed to foster an expanded range of scholarly and creative expressions for undergraduate researchers interested in the visual arts and in original creative work such as music, dance, writing, or scholarly essays.
About Smart Museum of Art
Smart Museum of Art is a general public museum wholly part of the University of Chicago and was named in honor of brothers David and Alfred Smart, who built an innovative publishing business in Chicago. The Smart Musem was founded in 1974 and since its establishment, the Museum has strived through strong community and scholarly partnerships, the Museum incorporates diverse ideas, identities, and experiences into its exhibitions and collections, academic inquiry, and public programming.
Requirements for SMA Smart Scholars Program
- Open to undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Chicago in any major;
- Must have already completed at least one full year of undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago;
- Must be a registered student at the University of Chicago for the current academic year
