Google in partnership with Maliyo Games has launched a training Bootcamp for beginner game developers that aims to take you from zero experience to creating android game titles published on the Google Play store.
About Google/Maliyo Games
GameUp Bootcamp, launched in partnership with Google is designed for young, vibrant, creative minds with formal or basic programming knowledge or a computer science skill. Maliyo however is a Lagos-based game development studio with more than 40 mobile games in its portfolio.
Successful candidates will learn how to package, set up, refine and develop casual Android games using a modern self-paced and project-based learning system with instructors who will periodically assess and evaluate their performances.
The program will support participants with valuable peer support from the African gaming community rooting for them. The GameUp Bootcamp will also offer a generous data allowance to enable students to access course materials and download relevant software.
Requirements for Games Developer Bootcamp Qualification
- Live in Nigeria, Ghana or Kenya.
- Have a basic background in programming languages like C#, C++ and PHP.
- Have their own personal computer.
- Be available for the program that commences on August 16.
