About Borlaug Global Rust Initiative
Borlaug Global Rust Initiative was conceived in 2005 as an international organization of proactive hunger fighters from different institutions and parts of the world who engage with farmers to sustain a wheat secure world.
The organization works to enhance sustainable international partnerships to fight against the threats to wheat such as diseases and climate change and more so to train the next generation of hunger fighters.
Requirements for BGRI Jeanie Borlaug Laube Award
- The award is made only to women.
- There is no age limit, but the award is intended for early career scientists ranging from advanced undergraduates to recent PhD graduates and postdoctoral fellows.
- Priority is given to women at the pre-professoriate level.
